"The Sound of the City:the Rise of Rock and Roll"

for a paper, though I'm not reading the whole thing, so I don't know if that counts... maybe I will read the whole thing when I have the time

Martin Amis - 'Experience'.

I'm not a fan of biographies/autobiographies, so it's taking me a bit of time to get into the rhythm of reading it.

I said the same thing about just about every novel I was supposed to read over the last two years in English Lit.

Probably 'The Rachel Papers'.

Do you read more classical or contemporary works on your course?

Depends on the module. One focused on work published between 1600 and 1900, where as Popular Genres had both, e.g. Dracula compared to 'Salem's Lot, Poe compared to Kathy Reichs, etc.

Looks interesting enough. I came across his 'The Stuff of Thought' through my readings on Wittgenstein and Ayer. I've not read it, though.

Look at this. He tries to impress us all with his literary knowledge and yet he cannot spell a word as simple as 'Theodore'. I had to laugh.

Got a copy of Left Bank by Kate Muir from a charity shop for 59p.

A bit of Parisian romantic literary fluff for a Saturday night.
